After being the most visited space in the last three editions of Expoquimia, “Smart Chemistry Smart Future” returns in 2023 with 16 leading companies and organisations in the sector such as the Chemical Business Association of Tarragona (AEQT), Air Liquide, BASF, Bondalti, Carburos Metálicos, Cepsa, the Chemical Cluster of Tarragona (ChemMed), Covestro, Dow, Ercros, Grupo Industrias Químicas del Ebro (IQE), Ineos Inovyn, the Association of Chemical Companies of the Valencian Community (Quimacova), Quimidroga and Repsol. The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) is a collaborating entity; Institutional Partners: the Chemistry and Society Forum, the Spanish Technology and Innovation Platform for Sustainable Chemistry SusChem España and ChemSpain and Media Partners: Interempresas, Proyectos Químicos and Confidencial Químico.
Smart Chemistry Smart Future is a unique event focused on the contribution of the Chemical Industry to society, which will give visibility to the contributions of the chemical sector such as: the development of green hydrogen; the capture, storage and use of CO2; chemical recycling or new fuels, among others, which will be very relevant in areas such as energy transition, circular economy or digitalization and that will channel the production paradigm shift to achieve a climate-neutral Europe in 2050. But achieving this climate neutrality will not be possible without chemical innovation, since the products, advanced materials and technologies produced by the chemical industry are present in 98% of the rest of the productive sectors along the entire value chain.
Along these lines, Carles Navarro, vice-president of Feique and president of Expoquimia points out: “The chemical industry is prepared to respond to the ambitious objectives of the Green Deal and also to take advantage of the opportunities it offers us in areas such as energy transition, circularity of the life cycle or the generation of safe and sustainable products from design, among others. Chemical companies will address these issues at Expoquimia and, in particular, at the Smart Chemistry Smart Future forum”.
The chemical sector, ready to meet the challenges
The innovative solutions required by the objectives set by the Green Deal for 2050 will attract strong industrial investment in the race for global innovation that will drive the transition towards a production model that will have among its foundations circularity and the optimisation of resources and energy.
“Smart Chemistry Smart Future – Green Deal Edition” has reformulated its concept and design, strengthening the Agora as the nerve centre of activity, a space where an extensive programme of talks and events will be held in which companies and associations will focus on specific business cases in which the chemical sector is already working. It also will show how chemistry has a great capacity to improve and change the world through innovative solutions to today’s major challenges.
The entire programme of conferences and events of the Smart Chemistry Agora can be followed via streaming, with live access to content offered by renowned professionals and experts from the sector’s leading companies and organisations, who will present the latest research and trends that are being developed in the industrial field of chemistry to achieve the objectives of the Green Deal.
